Avonvale sits on four and a half acres of old woodland inside the New Forest National Park, a few miles from Ringwood near the Hampshire and Dorset border. The exact address is kept private. It dates from the early 1960s and is run by its members on a non-commercial basis, with a clubhouse warmed by a wood-burning stove, a heated pool, a large wood-burning sauna and south-facing lawns.
It is a club to join rather than a place to holiday: members get access all year, plus camping and limited caravan space, but the club does not take weekend breaks or touring bookings. Families and younger couples are especially welcome, there is a separate children's clubhouse and play area, and there is a busy sports and social calendar.
