The Scottish Outdoor Club sits in woodland on Inchmurrin, an island in Loch Lomond about 20 miles from Glasgow, and is owned and maintained by its members. There is a clubhouse with self-catering rooms and a log fire, a wood-fired sauna, a miniten court, showers, a large hut for social gatherings, camping pitches and members' chalets, and the loch for a bracing swim.
Visits run as weekends: guests meet in Balmaha on Friday evening and take the ferry across, returning on Sunday afternoon. There are no shops on the island, so bring all your food. Visitors including couples, families and singles are welcome, and booking by email is essential. The 2026 season ran from early April to early October.

Where it is
The pin marks Inchmurrin (ferry from Balmaha), not the exact site: like many private clubs, Scottish Outdoor Club shares its address when you book or arrange a visit.
